Soft, absorbent and durable 'diaper-service-quality' prefold diapers are made of 100% woven cotton, and are long lasting and affordable! Rectangular, with a thicker 'prefolded' all-cotton center panel. Both Infant and Standard size are 4x8x4 ply, which means 4 layers of fabric on either side, and 8 layers in the middle. Dimensions listed above are prior to washing. After washing and drying them several times, average shrinkage is about 2 to 3 inches in length.

Approximate weight ranges for sizes are: Infant (7-20 lbs); Standard (20-35+ lbs). Extra length can be folded over in back for a girl, or in front for a boy.

Before laundering DSQ Prefolds, they appear larger and quite flat, however they do change dramatically after washing and drying them a few times, shrinking to normal size and 'quilting' up to be much thicker and softer.

Note:  About Unbleached diapers: Keep in mind Unbleached prefolds will need to be pre-washed about 3 to 5 times before first use to remove the naturally repellent waxy residues emitted in the weaving process. Using hot temperatures and a stronger detergent initially can hasten this process to bring the fabric to its maximum absorbency.
