Choosing to use a two-part system of pairing cloth diapers with diaper covers allows for the possibility of using a variety of cover styles, so natural and breathable diaper covers can also be included in the mix if one wishes to maximize the healthy air circulation around baby's bottom. And there's really nothing quite like soft and natural cotton diapers next to baby's skin!

Our affordable SNUGGLEBOTTOMS are made of soft, 100% cotton flannel diapers with a wide padding of up to 9 layers for great absorbency. Good coverage and gently gathered leg openings help prevent leaks. This makes them especially great for newborns and breast-fed babies! Trimmer than most fitted styles, these diapers will also fit in a wider variety of diaper covers. This Snugglebottom allows for more versatility than diapers with closures or snaps, and when a diaper is outgrown it can easily be placed inside a larger diaper or Snugglebottom and used like a doubler to boost absorbency. No pins or fasteners needed if using with Velcro-closing diaper covers, which should provide a snug enough fit around the tummy to hold the diaper in place. (Tip: For use under looser or pull-on pant style diaper covers, or if you occasionally want the additional security of the diapers having their own closure, you can accomplish this by overlapping the side diaper flaps at the front, and then securing them with one or two diaper pins pinned superficially into just the first few layers of fabric --this method will hold the diaper closed and prevent any issues of sticking baby or yourself!)

If more absorbency is desired for naps, nighttime, or heavier wetters, a diaper doubler can easily be added. Our Snugglebottoms are designed primarily for daytime use to cut down on the extra bulk when not needed, which means they'll also spend less time in the dryer than most fitted diapers.

Two or three sizes can usually suffice for the whole diapering time! ~ If baby is under 9 lbs we recommend starting with NB size. If baby is just over 9 or 10 lbs, you can start with SM. Then MD size would be next for those looking for a more precise fit or if starting use when baby is around 14 lbs - but for most babies you can jump from the SM to LG size. The LG is equivalent to a Standard size diaper and fits most babies all the way up to potty training. Toddler size is also available, but most babies won't need this size.

Note: Unbleached diapers always need to be washed about 5 to 7 times before first use to remove the naturally repellent waxy residues emitted in the weaving process. Using hot temperatures and a stronger detergent initially will hasten this process and help open up the fibers to their maximum absorbency.
